About me

My aim in writing is to increase the number of the books I like to read – a good mystery, with characters to care about, set somewhere interesting.
I do most of my writing in a cabin in west Wales, set under the trees. I look out of the window, and what I see are birds and squirrels, and in the evening, bats. At night, I hear the battering of rain on the tin roof, or the cry of an owl or a fox. I love the place, and it’s why there are so many Welsh woodlands in my books.
I didn’t start writing fiction seriously until I was a woman of a certain age. I should have started much earlier, but then, I wouldn’t have had so many things to write about, would I?
You can find pictures of forests, a blog about the research I do for the books, and some free stories on this website.
